THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Testing times

Take One: Despite having to wake up around 3:30 am, I was in the highest of spirits because I was on yet another sojourn. I was off to surprise Patrick star and it was going to be a happy reunion. But all that didn’t materialize due to a lapse on the part of the bloody airline. After an hour I was tiptoeing my way back into the arms of my neatly folded blanket. Surprisingly I wasn’t too angry given the situation. Years ago I had a similar experience with another airline, Air Deccan this time. I spent close to nine hours in Lohegaon airport until I was upgraded to Jet airways and finally arrived in Delhi around midnight. It seems to me that budget and Cyden just don’t go hand in hand.

Take Two: Armed with a Singapore airlines ticket, I was back in the airport the next day. Just like the Pune experience I was in for a good deal because I had to forego an expensive Indigo ticket for a cheaper Airbus experience. Life always throws good things our way; we just need to be patient. Well anyways I didn’t face any hassles at the check in counter. Once past the immigration official, another sleazy character who very coyly asked if I was on facebook (to which I refuted with a disgusted “No”!), I smiled to myself since it was a confirmation that I would finally be on that plane to Singapore after all!
