THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Addressed to me

Snotty says,

"I'm starting to feel like a rebel. There is this urge to go against the expected and do what I feel without thinking of the ifs and buts. This afternoon I ended up booking myself a seat in a flight out of the country. Where to? I will let you know once I reach my destination This should be interesting. It will be a short break before yet another one".

I remember going to Thailand for the first time on a similar impulse. It was mighty daring so to say. On the flight to Bangkok, I was in the company of some traders who barely knew three words in English. It was a holiday par excellence, from paragliding to paper lanterns and snorkeling -- I did it all. Sometimes impulsive decisions are a good thing. I cannot say the same about listening to other people's advice and making a fool of oneself later on. But I've already crossed that bridge now and that is not going to happen ever. It was a good lesson learnt today, something I got to know well in advance.
