THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Worth the drive

My driving skills have been getting better by the day, especially during this vacation thanks to all the social visits my parents have had to make. I have always felt nervous everytime dad was seated in the passenger seat. He is an impatient man who loses his cool easily. Nowadays, I don't feel that fear anymore. There are times he tells me to park somewhere easy or turn the vehicle where bigger space is available but the adamant me refuses and goes ahead with the challenge. I think it's a good thing. I always had it in the back of my mind to perfect my driving and I am finally standing at that threshold today.

A concerned Mum asked me if I was tired while we were still an hour away from the capital, to which pat came my reply, "I can drive you all the way to North if you want me to". I was thoroughly enjoying the drive. Also, the company cannot be overlooked. It has been a while since I was alone with my parents so the conversation and the singing made the three hour journey worthwhile. The driving, the cooking and my technician duties must've brought a proud smile on their faces. There are days I feel like I disappoint them but today its the opposite. I know I am a good daughter :))
