THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Who's your valentine?

Last year, I remember writing a Valentine's eve post from within the confines of my hostel room. I was super content with my relationship status and the fact that I was able to sit through yet another cupid struck event minus a needy partner. My logic was simple -- I didn't need a day to remind me of my feelings. I'm sure those in love felt safe and secure but I didn't feel any less then.

Highlight of the day :D
This year you are listening to a different Cyden. I'm warmly tucked in bed, while balancing the Dell on my belly and my legs providing support. I may have faced many disappoinments in life but they also helped me learn in the process. Today I baked a chocolate mud cake for my boyfriend. I'm pretty sure he wasn't expecting it. I wanted to do something thoughtful to mark Valentine's day. Silly cyden is not silly for no reason. I can't say I didn't get an opportunity in the past but I never gave much importance to this day until now. You have to remember that my baking record goes back to just two cakes; the first being super hard while the second one just about passed the test. This evening my final product was everything I had envisioned and more.

There is so much that can change within a year. I still don't care about Valentine's Day and really I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't do anything special tomorrow. However, in many ways, Saint Valentine has edged me to do something special for a loved one today so I have to admit that I have finally celebrated Valentine's day in 2012. Ending this post on the same note, I hope (just like the year before) that those in love have a Happy Valentine's day while the singles celebrate their Independence day. Cheers.
