THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

OD

Earlier this evening, I was telling my sister about how the whole social scene was getting to me. It was an overdose of all things wedding. Every sitting has a helping of this topic. Either a niece runs away, or the elders have liked a girl for a certain cousin, or preparations are in full swing for an upcoming reception, or a cousin is now getting ready to introduce her significant other to the family. In many ways I am glad I will be in the comfort of my tiny room in JNU next week but this too is temporary. Come summer, I will have to bid goodbye at that front too. Then what?! For now I need to drown in academics again. The time has come for me to buckle up, take a stand and get busy on my own terms.
