My mother is one among seven siblings, but if we are to count only the sisters then they are four of them. Four sisters who have four daughters between them. The youngest aunt is a spinster, Mum has two daughters and my two elder aunts have a daughter each. Among us four sisters, I am the youngest while my sister is the eldest. Not that we need to follow the age rule but both my sisters have married in sequence. First, it was my sister in 2008 and then my second Aiela followed this summer. Now it seems like Yanks has to tie the knot before I start worrying about my big day.
Other than marriage, I think children have also followed the same rule. My sister is a proud mother of two hyper active kids -- a daughter who is seven already and a son who is just completing seven months. Today, Aie KG welcomed a son into this world. My second nephew! He weighed a hefty four kilograms at birth. I was absent when my own sister delivered so today's experience was an eye opener. I was the nervous aunt and a worried sister, all at the same time. I got a taste of what it must be like to have a baby and the aftermath. The thing is I have always been confident about going through the whole pregnancy part with ease but what I saw during the day has psyched me out a little. Nevertheless, I held this tiny being in my arms. It is amazing that this same baby is going to grow by leaps and bounds and will be walking and talking in no time. Our big family is extremely happy to welcome another dragon boy into the world. As an Amchung for the third time (considering just us four sisters), my only prayer is for him to lead a healthy and happy life.
Now I must coax my next in line to get going with the whole marriage and pregnancy bit. I am truly enjoying this phase where all of us are embarking on a whole new chapter in our lives, respectively. Let this bond grow stronger with every passing generation. Amen!
