THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

A complete year

Rewind a year from now and nothing much has changed. Last year I was sitting in the exact same position, going through some last minute notes and trying to instil confidence in the self. Yes, I was getting ready to sit for my Mains.

This year the foldable study table is back with a bang. Not in preparation for the same examination, nevertheless another important landmark in my life. The much touted State Civil Examination is back after a gap of more than four years. I would be a fool to throw away this opportunity for the second time, so here I sit in the comfort of the small space between my bed and the cupboard, going through the very same notes in an effort to clinch a job in the distinguished services. Do I think I will be successful? I know I stand a good chance but anything and everything can go wrong sometimes therefore I have to buckle up for the worst.

Last I heard, the form submission dates have been postponed by a month and a half. This spells both good and bad news. The former because it gives us extra time for preparation, but it is bad as well since there will be that much delay in the final results. Either ways, it is time to focus on the future.

The motto for the time being needs to be leaving no stone unturned.
