THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Another one bites the dust

The day before the wedding is always an exciting time. Apart from all the setting up and preparations for the guests, some run around for last minute facials and haircuts, others have to finish wrapping their gifts and some head for a relaxing coffee before the mayhem begins. The main day ofcourse is one that goes by at lightning speed. Once the first guests start pouring in, one loses track of time and before you know it, the sun has set and the party is over. I have been through this experience twice already and to think that it is only the fifth month of the calendar!

Today was the day after the wedding -- lots of cleaning and taking-things-back to where they belong. This makes it three elders from our generation who are now happily married. In the next few years there’ll be quite a number of weddings to attend and prepare for, but for now I want to take a break from this particular celebration. Too much of everything is bad for health, they say. Well I have had an overdose of weddings this spring.
