THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

August 15, 2011

Safe journey!

It might not be Christmas yet, but it is still the season to make merry. A lot of things happening around me. Family, friends and good people- everyone has a smile to share, some joy to spread, places to be, a little secret to unravel. Tonight, even if I try, I won't be able to sleep. Won't. Can't. Shan't.

The droplets outside my window leave me feeling rejuvenated. My mind is functioning at two levels to be honest. There is a quiet and confident Cyden, and then there is the other me whose thoughts constantly wander in part confusion and part imagination. Confusion and why? Almost all the time we bring it upon ourselves. Self inflicted, so to say. Often people comment you control your destiny but, many a times, I have felt otherwise. There are somethings which no matter how hard you try, the odds will always be against you. Could this be one of those?

Ladakh is on the menu for the next week or more. There are high expectations pinned on this one holiday. Having grown up in a picturesque hill station, having witnessed different landscapes- from the Himalayan mountains to the valleys, the lakes, waterfalls, backwaters, deserts, oceans, in my multiple trips around the country and more, I am yet to experience a walk along the roof of the world. It is no wonder that I am hoping this trip will blow me away. Blow me away literally. It is also much required to keep my mind off something important. That said, we fly to our destination by dawn tomorrow. I'll take my diary with me and update entries as soon as I get an opportunity to do so.

Happy holidays :))
