THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

One for the road ahead

Last night I was a brave, brave girl, for I decided to stop networking activities and purposely deactivated my Blackberry plan for the next two weeks. It was a simple task yet I felt heavy inside. It just goes on to prove technology can be so addictive at times, it is insane. Today I realized that, every now and then, I have this tendency to glance at my phone in the hope that the red light will blink. It has become a habit and I am wondering if maybe I should extend this self-imposed ban for the entire time I am home too.

Finally, I am standing at the threshold of a new challenge and I feel good about myself. I read up on modern Indian history throughout the day and I find it to be very interesting and easy to remember, if only it weren't for the dates. When I embarked on this journey, I made a mental note to myself-- two attempts and I am out, but when I read through the entire syllabus I realize that I learn so much. No wonder they say this examination is addictive. The thirst for knowledge drives you on I guess. I don't know where this journey is going to end, what new path I may take or how many stories are waiting to be written. Sometimes I wish we could all have a remote control to fast forward to the future or maybe rewind a few moments. While I sit here listening to a heavenly voice that is Simon Lynge, read through the lines below:

I have travelled to the future, and I like what I saw
I saw the mountains, and the rivers and the beauty of us all
Because if we want to break free, we can
If we want to break free, we can
And if we want to play music, do it now
And praise the moon, the mountains and the sun.

I have travelled to the future, because I built a time machine
A thousand buttons, and just one seat, but I'll take you if you want
I have built in my backyard, a shed full of love
And I go there when I need to remember where I went
Because if we want to break free, you can
If you want to be free, you can
And if you want to play music, do it now
And praise the moon, the mountains and the sun.
