THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Music to my ears

All I need is music. Good, unadulterated, soulful, relaxing music.

Presently, save a few good (and real) friends, I am in a place I've always wanted to be. Peace. Inside and out. Apart from these people, the one thing that carries me forward is music. Music never lets you down and the best part is having that particular song for every mood, every occasion. Like the rest, I graduated from pop to rock to rnb and hip hop. Trance, however, has never been my cup of tea. At this particular junction, I am into different genres.

Today I am listening to Oasis, a band that never ceases to amaze me. One word to describe them: meaningful. Artists like Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Adele, Ingrid Michaelson and Catherine Feeny also deserve an applause for being an absolute delight during live performances. I have been listening to a lot of Indie pop in recent times and I seem to connect with this genre the most. I am sure there are quite a few artists waiting to be discovered but for now I am very happy crooning ‘Chances’ by Five for fighting. The lyrics emanate my current thoughts.

"Chances are, when said and done
Who'll be the lucky ones,
Who make it all the way
Though you say I could be your answer
Nothing lasts forever,
No matter how it feels today
Chances are, we'll find a new equation
Chances run away from me
Chances are all they hope to be."

Give it a listen and I am sure you'll love it too.

  1. I absolutely hate music. I like me, though.
