THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Trying to be one

Last month I was a silent third party to a conversation that took place between two people at the airport lounge in Bagdogra. The discussion was based on whether spiritual books were helpful in guiding an individual to lead a good life. When I applied this logic to myself I was appalled. Accordingly, I now have a new understanding that there can be two types of people in the world with regard to reading such books:
  1. One who reads for intellectual satisfaction and may not necessarily apply the teachings in his/her life.
  2. One who actually tries to live by what he reads or applies them in his thoughts and actions.
As of now, I happen to fall in the former category.
Does this mean that I am in no way better off than the ignorant fools out there?
