Two days back I celebrated my birthday in grand style. After 12 years (or maybe more), atleast that is what Mum told me, I hosted a birthday dinner at my place. My parents were supposed to leave for our village in South Sikkim on the same day, but they deferred the trip by a day.
13th April started with a visit to the monastery, followed by day long preparation for the dinner. By the time it was 3pm I was ready to crash, but as soon as I got comfortable I heard two guests come knocking on the door. The other guests arrived much later. Once the evening got underway, there was no time to relax. At one point, my sister asked me to stay put while she took over the serving. My darling Lex was at his best behaviour as always. He was the man of the night, serenading each and every person in the room :) Post dinner, we headed to the club for some calorie burning exercises. This night out happened after a really long time and I realized this when I could not identify the songs bursting through the loudspeakers. Normally, I would be singing along to 90% of the songs but that night my vocal skills were restricted. By the time we got home, it was well over 1am, and I was finally in bed at 3am.
This marks the beginning of yet another eventful year for me. Somehow I sense that my 29th year will bring positive changes. Now that I have a couple of examinations lined up, I hope I can taste success in the coming few months. Touchwood.
