THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

2013

This is my first post of the year and I would like to begin by wishing all of you a very happy 2013.

Unlike the last two New years, it was a quiet celebration this time around. I stayed over at a sister's place and had Dengyal for company. We watched two award shows on the telly simultaneously. Other than that, I ended up feeling a bit tipsy after downing a ridiculously small amount of pear flavoured vodka. Towards the end of the night, our host came back from a Singapore flight. I felt really sorry that she had to work on New year's eve. On the other hand, I had prepared a simple dinner so she did not have to spend the night eating a cold meal all by herself. When she arrived around 4am, she was carrying a bottle of Merlot with her and the three of us raised a toast to the year ahead.

It was a lovely night I must say. Just as I had desired it to be.
