THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

A date with the games

Saturday added another memorable chapter in my life. There have been a number of things on my wish list and a few have been attained so far. A week or so back my friend asked if I would like to watch any CWG match or game? Of course I did- Tennis or Swimming. The two of us trudged along during the weekend to the R.K.Khanna Tennis stadium clueless about who we'd be rooting for that evening.

A series of security checks later, we were seated in a very well lit stadium. A CWG volunteer in a bright white and red shirt was standing next to me so I turned to him and spoke in my softest voice, lest other spectators should hear my embarrassing question.
"Excuse me, who is playing today?" I asked.
"Its the women singles final ma'am, Sania will play Rodionova".

It felt like a jackpot we had won without even knowing the rules of the game. An experience worth remembering.
