THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

The Juggler

The mind is ever so busy but, in the same breath, the mind can juggle many things at the same time.

Currently, the house is under renovation so we are deprived of a living room. Come tomorrow, I will have to make my sleeping arrangements in the prayer room. The entire process is going to take a month or two so I need to be prepared for late night conversations with god. Something I am actually looking forward to.

Along with my Ph.D. work, I am co-writing a paper on the Status of Millennium Development Goals in Sikkim. Once this is done, I have to start on a synopsis for a seminar to be held in Jamia Milia Islamia early next year. I just feel like there is just so much to be completed in the coming few months. To add to the above list, only yesterday, I came across a snippet in the local paper informing the candidates about the much awaited State Civil Service Examination. The concerned officials have finally decided on a date and it had to be the end of June. Reading the paper felt like someone was adding salt to the wound. Question: How am I supposed to balance them all??

Very often I take up additional load because I am too scared of an idle mind. But sometimes I wonder if I let this idea get the better of me.
