THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Peace at last

Today has been one of the better days. For starters, we managed to catch up over dinner after a long time. After some time has passed, relationships get to a point where things get stagnant. I think we have reached that particular junction. The other day we had an hour to ourselves and we did not know what to do or where to go. That was the moment I realized that we had spent pretty much our entire time hanging out in a big group. Now that we finally had some one-on-one time, what were we supposed to do? So we strolled around, had a glass of cucumber ice tea each and then decided to head back home. My sister tells me that this is not a good sign. Being a young couple, we need to spend quality time together. Therefore, the dinner tonight was a much needed outing for the both of us. I had been wanting to share a few thoughts for a while and tonight we had a lengthy conversation. Although a part of me feels like maybe I should have kept them hidden, the other part is at ease. I feel a ton lighter already!

The last week involved a lot of travelling. I have been to the campus and back after completing the registration formalities. Things are looking great as of now. I have an important presentation fixed for October which gives me plenty of time to get all pending tasks sorted. Getting back to campus always seems so tedious given the journey at stake, but once I make it inside the main gate I am immediately transferred into an altogether different world. Going for less than a week almost seems like a mistake then. The sad part is I cannot have the best of both worlds. I cannot expect to balance two lives at the same time so I am forced to choose. Given my priorities, it is an easy choice but there are days I wish for the peace and quiet of my hostel room. So with a rather heavy heart, that too in the humid month of July (for which I think I deserve a medal), I bade farewell to JNU for the third time this year. Today was day two of college since getting back home. The third semester students were asked to help clean the campus. Although I was not supposed to be supervising their activities, I ended up getting my hands dirty. The result after some two hours of hard menial work by the students was a neat surrounding. After which, I proceeded home for a quick shower followed by a football match.

My day ends with this post and this post tonight will end with the latest picture of a happy couple.

Cheers and good night.
