THE IMPONDERABILIA OF EVERYDAY EXISTENCE

Of bricks and colours

Every individual has many phases they go through in their journey called ‘life’. I have had my share of ups and downs as well. Sometimes I wonder how it would have been like if I had changed my mind and stuck with some other decision. Would life have been better or worse? Never mind these useless ramblings in my head. As I walked a long way back home, I was looking at all the majestic buildings that have been erected within a span of a decade. It must feel so good to have achieved so much after years of hard work (or maybe cunningness in a few cases??). Maybe someday I will also be a proud owner of one such landmark. If I did have a house of my own, I would colour every room differently. Each would signify a certain aspect of my character.

For starters, the exterior paint would be brick red. This colour because most of my friends say I look very challenging when meeting for the first time. Some say I look like Amitabh Bachhan’s female counterpart as the angry young woman. Coming towards the entrance, the walls would be painted golden yellow because I would like to believe that I am actually a cheery person once you know me. The living room would be done up in a contrast. Maybe dark blue on three walls and light beige on the fourth: Blue because of the big football fan that I am and beige to signify my sober self otherwise. My kitchen would be bright but not too loud at the same time. Since I am a cleanliness freak I would love to have my kitchen in a pastel shade. Lemon green would be a good way to go about it. The toilets would have plain white tiles on three sides and a brighter shade on the remaining side.

My bedroom would be done up in a contrast yet again. This time it would be more contemporary and more Indian. I am a big fan of ethnic wear so I would choose something rich to reflect my tastes. Finally my study room, wherein I am sure I’ll be spending a lot of time, will be all white. White gives that certain ambience which inspires me to think, write and work to the best of my capabilities.

So in short this is how it is going to be like in a matter of a few years.
If ever this dream materializes, all are invited for the house warming party.

  1. Hahah. Interesting. Even I did all the rooms in my apartment in different colors. In fact, my living room actually has two colors -- and the blue is in varying shades. Haha. Will send you the pictures soon.
