This blog has been long overdue. I have a lot of free time in hand right now but somehow I never really get the time to actually sit down and write something. The past week was a bit rough with some thoughts in my head and many people playing a crucial part, but presently everything is back to the basics. Yesterday was a good day as I got a lot of news. My dearest Beckham has done really well in his exams and secured a good percentage. He is also representing the state in the upcoming Santosh trophy in Jammu so things are moving upwards for him. My own paperwork is on a roll now so by next week I should have everything ready and going.
Today is the 21st and for any football lover it is 'D' day. Champions league finale in Moscow between Chelsea and Man Utd (whom I so lovingly like to call Manure). A lot of my friends ask me why Chelsea? I ask: Why not Chelsea? When a layman who doesn't have any iota about formula one is asked a question on the same, he/she goes, 'Ohhh Schumacher!' Similarly if you ask the very people about football they'll say, 'Ohhh Manchester United! Ohhh Ronaldo!' An observation well noted even in my PG hostel wherein bong chicks would drool over a certain Man Utd without even knowing who their captain or manager was. Nevertheless coming back to my point, Chelsea have won the league three times in the past 103 years. The latter two coming in 2004/05 and 2005/06 season. If a rich Russian billionaire does come along and decide to spend some cash in the club, then what's wrong with that? Football is after all played in the board room more than on the field. It is not like Rooney and the rest are playing for charity. I love rooting for the underdogs, always. Give me Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, West Ham, Fulham etc. I love them all, just kindly keep the red devils away.
The blues have never reached a Champions league finale so in many ways, the fact that they are in the final means its history for them and I think this fairy tale can only become better when we win the cup today.
Blue is the colour, Football is our game
Here we are together and Winning is our aim
So cheer us through the sun and rain
Coz Chelsea. . Chelsea is our name!
