Two visits to the PVR ticket counter and I’m finally fresh out of the hall. It is funny how the media created this whole hype about the rivalry between the two big releases this year- OSO and Saawariya. The whole thing was blown out of proportion and I think it was excessively unnecessary. I got to watch OSO on Diwali night itself; maybe not the first show but yes it was definitely the first day. What a mistake! My precious hard earned 175/- bucks donated to Farah Khan and her compatriot King Khan. Dont get me wrong here. I am a huge SRK fan too but this was not worth it. The movie was a disaster after the second half. Was the f**king director confused? She sure wanted reincarnation, revenge, horror all genres packed into one. And why is a certain Deepika rambling so much about her much touted debut? She surely sizzles on the ramp but has a total of ten lines compared to SRK’s five hundred. If she would have flaunted it as her first debut wherein she plays a guest appearance then it’s fine. Period. But to go on giving interview after interview which in the end adds up to nothing. Poof.
No comments about Saawariya because I haven’t seen it yet.
In comparison, Jab we met released some two weeks back but I was unable to get the tickets in the first two attempts. Being a lot wiser, I went for the morning show. The movie was absolutely amazing. I loved Shahid and, for a change, Kareena too. The two lead actors have really given an applause worthy performance. There is never a slow moment in the movie so I guess now I understand why it was so hard for me to get a seat in the first place. In the long run this movie will definitely win the other two biggies for sure.
Tomorrow it’s going to be yet another movie ‘Dhan dhana dhan goal’. I guess Rajeev Masand shall have some tough competition soon.
