My third field visit isn't worth mentioning as such. The town we are staying in is not a safe place. You have men ogling at you all day and night, wherever you go. The village is an hour’s drive away from the hotel.

The first day was a disaster. We started at 9 am and had to make break journeys. By the time we reached the village it was almost noon. Needless to say that was the routine we followed throughout the week. The only time I really looked forward to was while going to the village. Why? Well there were lovely windmills along the way. Not one, not two- there were many windmills running in circles. It is a lovely view, especially when the road is a straight stretch with very few trees to disrupt the scenery. This is the south west part of Madhya Pradesh, a plateau region. Windmills here generate 15 megawatt electricity.
Yesterday we had an early wrap up at the village so we decided to go to the windmill farm. Initially the driver took us from another road and I got a bit apprehensive. I wanted to go to the same windmills I always get to see along the way. When the car finally came to a halt, I felt like I had been transferred to another world. In my first year of college, I visited a nearby village near Nainital. It was one of the best trips I ever made because the place was so breathtakingly beautiful. I had felt this unfazed calmness run all over me. Today it was the same feeling. Picture this- you are surrounded by lovely green hills all around you, windmills churning on all sides and a lake, right in the middle, to complete the picture.
Once I got to the hill top, I went speechless. The view was magnificent. Words would fall short if I had to describe the scenery. On one side, the town was bustling with life and, on the other the wind was whispering something in my ears. Too bad my camera batteries conked out right at that moment.

I would have taken some really good shots. I did still have my cell phone though. So whatever pictures I took are courtesy of my cell. I will come back to this place again. This is a promise I’ve made to myself. If you wonder what heaven looks like? Come to me. I’ve been there done that :)
